Vision Defense Will Help You See Without Glasses!
You may spend a great deal of time in front of your computer each day. Did you know that this could increase the chance for eye strain and other problems? One of the best ways to avoid eye strain is to look away from your computer periodically. Software programs like Vision Defense can make that easier for you. Here are things to consider.
Computer vision strain, also called CVS, can cause a great deal of discomfort. You may have tired, dry eyes. They may itch or burn. It can cause your neck to hurt and your shoulders to ache. You may have headaches because of CVS. Your vision may occasionally blur, or you may have trouble focusing your eyes.
Spending long hours at computers will affect the eyes. They will blink less often. When this happens, they can dry out. Dry eyes can become tired and irritates easily. This may put additional stress on your eye muscles. You can take steps to alleviate strain associated with computer use. Software programs can help you to relieve eye stress.
Every few minutes you can have the software remind you to refocus your vision. It will open a window with your reminder. The window will remind you to look away and refocus. You can program the window to pop up in any corner of your screen. Have it pop up in the middle also, if you desire. It will remind you at the bottom left as a default setting. There are four time intervals for you to choose from. You can display a message every ten or fifteen minutes. Longer periods of twenty or thirty minutes are also available. It you get used to the pop-up window, you can change the location to the middle of your screen. This will get your attention.
This software uses a 10-10-10 rule. Every ten minutes, look away from the computer screen. Pick an object that is ten feet away. Stare at it for ten seconds. This helps to alleviate eye strain and avoid stress on the eyes. Focusing on something a ways off can relax your eyes. This may help avoid stress to your eyes from too much strain.
Other features
Would you like to hear a tone when the reminder pops up? Maybe you would prefer no noise at all. Those are all options in which to choose. Your volume will be set with your computer volume control.
Six reminder messages come with the program. They are your default messages. The messages appear one after the other and then will repeat. For example, to see all of the default messages in one hour, you need ten-minute intervals. You also have the choice of making your own messages. You might want to take a coffee break several times a day. Perhaps you would like to do twenty push-ups four times a day. Enter you own messages. They will appear in sequence after the default ones play.
In closing
If you sit too long at your computer screen, you may strain your eyes. Your neck may hurt and you may feel exhausted. Some simple techniques can keep you from getting computer vision strain. Vision Defense software can remind you to take these steps. You can program your own messages if you like.
